MANOVAL SURGEON or BUTCHER? THE DUTIES OF THE NEUROSURGEON

MANOVAL SURGEON? BUTCHER?
THE DUTIES OF THE NEUROSURGER

In the previous post we have better described the figure of the neurosurgeon. However, I decided to write this post especially for those young colleagues that want to get closer to the world of neurosurgery.

In fact, a mistake that can be made by some of them, it is to believe that being a neurosurgeon only means operating, operating, operating as an assembly line because it is absolutely not like that!

In learning this profession (which I am still learning) I gradually realized that the operating room is only one of the components of the daily work of a neurosurgery. Even in the complex picture of daily work, the operating room can even be in the last place (especially during the first years of training), not least but because it represents almost the last step in a patient management process that begins much earlier. , from the first visit to the clinic.

In a nutshell, what should a neurosurgery do at work? Only surgical activity? NO, he/she doesn't. The tasks of the neurosurgeon are mainly 4:

 1. OUTPATIENT.

 2. DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT.

 3. OPERATING ROOM.

4.  and CONSULTING.

All four of these tasks require theoretical, practical technical knowledge and experience in the field that make the neurosurgery specialist a highly complex and specialized figure.

IN A FEW WORDS: we are not only butchers but beyond the scalpel there is more! 😜.

In the next posts we will explore the three fields one by one.

To the next post ... or rather to the next NEUROSURUGIA PILL 😜
